Introduction

Funscape Kindergarten is a local kindergarten with an international approach.

Initially started as a Right Brain Learning Centre under in 2009, Funscape started offering kindergarten classes in 2015. Using teaching methods that focus on holistic development, and the right brain method, as well as being rooted in the multiple intelligences theory, Funscape teachers engage your child in hands-on, activity-based learning—to ensure that they grow, not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and psychologically as well.

Funscape aims to provide your child with a fun childhood where they can learn even as they play. Besides fun memory games, we also focus on the meaningfulness of the information taught through reasoning so that your child doesn’t just gain knowledge, but also the ability to learn.

Whilst we cannot change the syllabus or force schools to appreciate the creative talents of our children, we believe that each parent can and should. At Funscape, we engage our students in each of the intelligences (linguistic; logical-mathematical, spatial, bodily-kinaesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalist), encouraging them to learn in creative ways. By teaching them how to learn instead of what to learn, we give them a head start in life.

Children learn best when they can experience with new things with all their senses in a fun, interative, and engaging way so we don’t confine their learning process to the classroom! Not all children learn at the same pace. Neither do they learn at the same rate all the time. When children choose what they wish to learn, they gain more from the experience than when they are forced to study a subject. To promote such child-led learning, we employ the use of learning corners, which are permanent visually- and spatially-defined areas with materials organised by subject and available for children to select independently.

Ultimately, we believe that character counts—and whilst your child may need that list of A’s on their transcript, their character and skills in continuous learning is what will set them apart in the future. With our focus on holistic development, we mentor your child so that their social and emotional development grows on par with their academic studies.
