Curioo is a global supplementary education company teaching practical and life skills to children from 3 years old to 12 years old, in Malaysia the first studio was opened in June 2022, followed by the 2nd and 3rd studios in October and December 2023.

Job Description

The CURIOO Principal is responsible for aligning the Studio with the culture, values, and Purpose of CURIOO. Taking a human-centred approach to leadership, the Principal knows that being highly approachable, humble, positive and determined together with very precise management of operating standards is required to lead a successful learning center.

Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the Principal to provide the leadership and management necessary for the Studio to provide the best customer experience in the education industry. They do this by managing the people, processes, policies, and activities in alignment with CURIOO standard operating procedures.

The Principal works together with all team members and across all functions to provide a seamless customer experience between the consultation, Initial Assessment, onboarding and teaching and follow-up in the Studio. They are the “face of the Studio” and responsible for ensuring the services and environment provided to students are safe and supportive.

Responsibilities:

-Student Performance & Management:

Set and enforce the appropriate levels of student progress and achievement that are aligned with CURIOO standards
Ensure all classes and courses are delivered according to CURIOO standards
Manage new student onboarding to ensure the process is smooth and enjoyable for all students
Ensure an organized, disciplined and orderly learning environment
Ensure appropriate standards of student behavior and attendance
Monitor the progress and achievement of the learning objectives of all students

-Organisational Leadership

Together with the Studio Director, achieve the Studio financial, customer service and quality objectives
Constantly lead in a manner that is consistent with the Purpose, Beliefs, and values of CURIOO
Lead the teaching team in developing a high performing, active, engaged, and fun culture
Create a culture of customer experience excellence, teamwork, collaboration with all staff in the Studio and students and parents
Always promote a culture of respect and appreciation
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and health and safety processes and ensure the safety and security of all students, staff, and visitors
Manage the student renewal process to ensure the Studio achieves its target enrolment forecast
Work with teachers to constantly assess and improve student achievement results
Work with teachers to improve their teaching practice through coaching, professional development, modeling, and collaborative planning
Ensure consistencies in instruction and practice amongst the team of teachers
Foster a culture of professionalism between all teachers and Studio staff

-Operational Leadership

Oversee routine Studio facilities maintenance
Input into the Studio budgeting process as required
Oversee management of Studio data, student management systems and CURIOO documentation and resources as necessary

-People

Recruit, select, and hire Studio academic staff
Continually monitor progress on all measures of Studio and staff performance
Ensure legal hiring and termination procedures
Oversee any and all disciplinary actions
Communicate the visión, Purpose and objectives that supports CURIOO’s values

-Parent & Community Relations

Serve as the key contact between teachers, parents, and students
Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in all elements of this position, while serving as a leader at CURIOO and a dedicated role model for other employees

Job Requirements

1) Bachelor degree or above in childhood education.
2) 5 - 7 years experience in early years Teaching/Management.
3) Strong leadership skills, able to motivate, train and coach other employees.
4) Fluency in English and Chinese.
5) Loving and caring for children.
